In Buddhism, the conch shell is a
symbol of the proclamation of the Buddha's teachings. The conch
represents the sound of the Dharma reaching far and wide, awakening
beings from ignorance. It is one of the 7 auspicious symbols in Buddhism. In Asia, the conch has long been used
as a battle horn. In the Hindu epic The Mahabharata, the sound of the
hero, Arjuna's conch terrorized his enemies.
This conch is decorated with filigree,
an ornamental work of fine electric plated silver wire which is
formed into delicate tracery.
This beautiful conchshell is hand decorated by the very talented artists of the beautiful Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal!
