Description
This serene Buddha statue is portrayed standing on a double lotus base
with a beautifully carved lotus arch. The lotus is a major
Buddhist symbol of renunciation, purity, and freedom from the faults of
cyclic existence.
Lord Buddha's hands are in namaste mudra also known as anjali mudra, the gesture of prayer and greeting. In this gesture the hands are kept closed to the chest in devotional attitude with the palms and fingers joined.
The carving on this piece is absolutely superb, particularly the intricately carved arch.
This sculpture is entirely hand carved in Bali, Indonesia. Every piece is truly unique!
